Hello there!
I’m a novelist and essayist. I’m glad you’re here.
My new novel, Immersions, will be published by Tin House in May 2026. My debut novel, Everyone Knows How Much I Love You, came out in 2020 from Ballantine Books.
I’ve written about dance, literature, and labor for The Brooklyn Rail, Lux, The Paris Review Daily, n+1, and some other places, too. My short stories have appeared in Best American Short Stories, American Short Fiction, the Harvard Review, and on NPR’s Selected Shorts.
I’ve taught writing at Oberlin College, the New School, the University of Iowa, and for Sackett Street Writer’s Workshop. Rites and ReVisions, my writing and editing service, provides one-on-one coaching and feedback, as well as online classes.
I live in Brooklyn, New York with too many books and house plants. A total creature of habit, I’ve run the loop in Prospect Park approximately one thousand times.
Kyle writes a short monthly column on MFAs and the writing process, available here.
